Thank you for these two translations, the communiqué and this Press Conference

These are invaluable - to learn anything about China it is best to start with such documents - and the Press cong=ference is indispensable for even beginning to unravel the highly condensed and even abstract dimensions of the 'Decision'

I hope you will post the full document when it is released, as well as follow the process forwards into realisations

I haave posted your work, extracts linked to your website, on one or two western MSM websites - needless to say MSM has been perfunctory in their comments, if not foolish - there was one article in the FT which sort of began to treat the subject of the Third Plenum seriously

My very brief knowledge of China, from websites such as your's, has shown that the West understands or is interested in China even less than the West understands or is interested in Russia, although, for now, they do not (often) treat the Chinese as savage scum as they do the Russians

It's good to see people reading this. Reading docs is challenging but helpful. Sometimes I even find myself trapped in jargons

It looks as if to turn into language a very intricate and complex process of decision making which has to contain continuity with past decisions together with outlines of new reforms to be presented as work in progress to be completed at many levels...

results in very tight knitted prose

Can not be easy to translate into english, a very simplified language

A political commentator once said that "if you don't know what China's plenums are and their significance, you don't really know China enough to call yourself a 'China expert'."

Most of the China "experts" in Western mass media don't even speak Chinese, so they are not reliable sources of information. Many things are not translated into English - the language barrier is rea.

Thanks for providing us this information :) I am learning to read Chinese, but it' "not up there" yet for me to read the transcripts raw ;)
