About Yingshi Gao
I’m Yingshi Gao, a CGTN reporter based in Beijing. Growing up in the heart of the Chinese capital, politics, history, and foreign affairs have always been part of my daily life. This early exposure naturally led me to pursue a degree in international relations at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University in Washington, DC.
As a Gen-Z, I’ve worked as a youth culture researcher for Bilibili—the Chinese equivalent of YouTube, boasting 400 million users. This experience has made me acutely aware of the dynamic and ever-changing landscape of Chinese society, especially among the younger generation. My deep dive into youth culture allows me to provide the latest analysis on the trends and behaviors shaping China's future leaders. Through this lens, I hope to help you understand the generation that will drive China's evolution in the years to come.
